Sound Straws:

Work in pairs; each pair needs a pair of scissors and a straw each.

Demonstrate the making of the sound straw.

Steps

1. Cut the end of the straw into a point.

2. Chew on the cut end to make it flexible

3. Open up the ends.

4. Place in mouth and blow. What do you notice/ (sound, feel vibrations)

5. Practice getting a sustained sound.

6. Once both members of the pair have mastered, one blows through straw and other cuts off a section.
