Covid information and updates

PCSD #6

Parents

It is your responsibility to check your child for symptoms of illness every day prior to sending your child to school. If your child has any of the following symptoms, this indicates a possible illness which may decrease your child’s ability to learn and also put them at risk for spreading illness to others.

People who have symptoms of respiratory or gastrointestinal infections should stay home.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL WITH ANY OF THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS

  • Fever (100.0) or Chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of Breath or Difficulty Breathing

  • Sore Throat

  • Nausea or Vomiting

  • Diarrhea

Park 6 Parents and Guardians:

Park 6 will not be tracking positive cases, contact tracing close contacts, nor tracking quarantines for those individuals.

Students diagnosed with a positive case of COVID-19 should consider CDC guidelines for isolation.

If your student is sick, please keep them home.

School nurses will continue to assess students who present with symptoms of respiratory or gastrointestinal illness to determine if they will be sent home. If your child has a fever, they can return to school when they are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.

If there is a need to quarantine a classroom, grade, or school due to transmission rates or illness, families will be notified as they would with any other communicable disease such as chickenpox, influenza, RSV, etc.

The district will continue to honor and abide by any quarantine letter issued by county or state health officials.

PCSD#6 Highly Recommends

• Stay home if you are experiencing any cold or COVID-like symptoms.

• Contact your local healthcare provider if you are concerned about symptoms you are experiencing.

• Consider testing for COVID-19 and notifying any close contacts if your test is positive.

Please refer to CDC guidelines to determine what recommendations apply to your personal situation.

• Wash/sanitize your hands frequently.

Last update: 08/17/22
