The Parish Rover team is excited to be back at the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC) for our sixth year! There has been a lot of change since our first time competing. This year we are grateful to have seven returning members (veterans) and 12 new members from 9th-12th grade.
We have had gained so much interest in the school, that our numbers are projected to continue to rise. Back in 2014 we were just a small team, wanting to build a functional rover. We have learned a lot about the building and design process, as our first year was filed with many mistakes as a new team we had to learn. We did not perform well, however that did not stop us from trying again, and improving. Our Rover is a combination of ideas and lessons that we have soaked in during our six years building. Thus, over time we showed up and have earned a great amount of awards, but to us the most important part is our team, and the process, not the recognition.
