The space we used to build the rovers for this year was our Design Den. This is a fairly big work shop that encompasses a wood shop, welding shed, and design studios. In these spaces we are able to design fabricate and build most of the part we need for the rover. The space gives us plenty of room for everyone to work. We can have a team making wheels while the same time another team is build the metal rover. Overall our Design Den is really nice place to work and supply us with all we need.
For working at the beginning of the year before we had a set class everyone would come in during flex and after school on Mondays and Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00. During this time we got most of the design process complete before the official class started. During our Second Trimester we had a hour and a half class on B-days to work in addition to the after school and flex periods. The class also started to come in during the weekend on Saturday from 10:00 to 4:00 to get extra work do. During our Third Trimester we are going to move back to the Tri 1 schedule of after school and flex but also during free periods.
