Per Parish Episcopal School Policy, students are not permitted to use tools until they have completed both "written" (online) and "hands-on" tool safety quizzes. At the completion of "hands-on" quizzes students will be notified as to whether they are permitted to use the tool either under direct adult supervision as designated by a "supervised" appearing on the tool tracking form or independently as noted as "independent" on the tracking form.
**If you have taken and passed written and performance quizzes for previous classes in the 2018-19 school year, that credit will be applied to the rover tryout and class. If you have taken the performance quizzes, but not been approved for independent use, or met the upper school standard for a particular tool it is strongly recommended that you retake the performance quiz prior to tryout or class deadlines.

Fall Tryout Tool Quiz Requirements:
- ALL Students must complete all required online tool quizzes by September 24, 2018.
- These online quizzes should be repeated as necessary until 100% is achieved.
- Students must complete the following "hands-on" tool quizzes AND must achieve "independent" proficiency
- Band Saw
- Jig Saw
- Table Saw
- Mitre Saw
- Drill Press
- Hand Held Drill
- Belt Sander
- Metal Chop Saw
- Bench Grinder
- Laser Cutter
Additional Rover Class "Hands-On" Tool Quiz Requirements:
Due Wednesday, December 19th by 3:00pm
- Welder
- Angle Grinder
- Plasma Cutter
- CNC Router - wood rover & wheel team
- Completion of the performance tool quizzes will be assessed under competency 2, students will demonstrate the ability to use tools, resources, and environments safely, responsibly, and ethically.
- Class time will be given to tool performance quizzes. Students not passing on first attempt will need to schedule time outside of class for retakes with instructors.
- Until tool quizzes are passed students should expect to have their work contributions limited for reasons of safety.
- If all tool quizzes are not completed by assigned December 19th deadline students will be awarded credit based on percentage of quizzes completed.
