The data included in these dashboards contain only those cases in which a school-based quarantine (e.g., individual students/staff, group of students/staff, full classroom, grade level, school building) was necessary due to in-school close contact with the positive individual.

**IMPORTANT**
Unless you are otherwise notified, your child has not been identified as a close contact and does not need to quarantine.
As per the CDC and the NJDOH, the maximum distance used to determine a “close contact” for students within a classroom setting is 3 feet for a student who was near a positive student OR 6 feet for a student who was near a positive adult.
In both scenarios, the student would need to be under the maximum distance of the positive individual for at least 15 cumulative minutes over the course of a 24-hour period beginning two days before the COVID-19 positive individual tested positive or began showing symptoms.
