It is one of the major libraries of our nation, and provides library service to over 3.4 million residents living in Los Angeles County. Supplementing the 7.5 million volume book collection, the Library also offers magazines, newspapers, government publications and many specialized materials including online databases.

At Unite for Literacy, we picture a world where all children have access to an abundance of books that celebrate their languages and cultures and cultivate a lifelong love of reading.

Free Kids Books is a growing library of unique children’s books, literary resources, and textbooks for children and young adults, available online and for download primarily in a user-friendly pdf format.

We aim to provide easy access to great free children’s books and educational resources, for the enjoyment of reading and writing, and to promote improved literacy and education, and thus improved lives.

For as long as schools are closed, we're open. Right now, kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across eight different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids.
