Artistry in Action is designed to provide a platform for artists to create, demonstrate, and discuss their work while interacting with an engaged audience. Artists will work in their chosen medium, whether it’s painting, sculpture, textiles, or any other form of craft or visual art. Visitors will have the chance to observe the artist’s process up close and ask questions about their practice, techniques, and inspirations.

A musical performance will accompany the day to not only add to the ambiance but also showcase yet another artist and medium. Space will also be provided for local art groups to educate the public about their programming and initiatives.

May 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2025, 6pm to 8pm

In this Intro to Drawing workshop series participants will learn the basics and discover how easily these fundamental skills can be applied to create pleasing and realistic drawings. While designed with beginners in mind, the class includes valuable tips and techniques that are beneficial for artists of all skill levels.

Through guided learning and practice, participants will develop essential drawing and observation skills, including understanding line quality, shapes, perspective, and light and shading.

Participants will also discover bonus Master’s tricks to instantly improve the appeal of compositions.

By the end of this series—though just the beginning of your drawing journey—you’ll be equipped to draw from observation and have the knowledge and skills to begin drawing from imagination.

The first exhibition of 2025 at the deCoste Culture Hub Gallery showcases a diverse range of mediums, including photography, painting, and mixed media. Ebb and Flow invites you to explore the natural environment through the eyes of local artists, offering a unique perspective on the land around us.
