Brown's Point est l'endroit exact où les Écossais ont débarqué du navire Hector en 1773. Pictou est connu comme le lieu de naissance de la Nouvelle-Écosse.

Browns Point se trouvait autrefois à l'extrémité du chemin de fer qui reliait Loch Broom à Pictou. La gare a été démolie vers 1958, mais le pont est resté en place pendant de nombreuses années. Le pont a finalement été détruit dans un incendie en 1993.

Browns Point was once the location of the end of a large railway crossing that crossed from Loch Broom over to Pictou. The railway station was town down about 1958, but the bridge remained for many years later. The bridge was eventually destroyed in a fire in 1993
