End of Year Camps for Year 10 Students
Wednesday 26th of November to Friday 28th of November.
As the school year wraps up, our Year 10 students are invited to embark on an unforgettable end-of-year camp experience! This enriching opportunity not only fosters teamwork and resilience but also encourages personal growth and connection with peers. Students will engage in a range of outdoor activities, develop leadership skills, and embrace the beauty of New Zealand’s landscapes.
Camps provide a unique setting for students to step outside their comfort zones, build lasting friendships, and create cherished memories. It's a chance to learn about nature, challenge themselves physically and mentally, and reflect on their journey through junior school.
The camp week will run from Wednesday 26th of November to Friday 28th of November.
There are three types of camp experiences which vary in cost and the types of activities that they offer. They are:
Overnight camps- These are camps where students head away for 3 days and stay overnight at the location where their camp is based.
Day camps- These camps students meet at school and head out for day trips in the local or wider BOP region. Students return back to school each day.
School based camps- These are located on-site and are experiences that are very popular with some students.
Your student will need to select three camp options. The first two options can be a mix of overnight/local/and school based camps. The third option needs to be either a local or school based option. Students will be placed into one of their three options.
Some camps have higher levels of risk that are present than what would be expected in a normal classroom setting, the school will manage the risk and hazards for all camps according to the school’s safety management plan. This includes careful consideration to the relevant risks associated with each camp option. While risks can be maintained to acceptable levels they cannot be totally eliminated. Some risk is retained for its learning and experiential value. If you wish to come into school to see our safety management systems or have any questions please contact the school.
Camp selections need to be completed by 5pm, Friday the 17th of October.
Please contact the school on enquiries@papamoacollege.school.nz if you have any questions.
