(Rooms 7, 12 and 14)
Welcome back to another fine term of learning. Our school-wide focus this term will be on Recycling and Promoting Health.
Thursday 14 November 2017 - 6pm
A time for us to celebrate our amazing students hard work. All of our students have been learning cultural dances in terms 1 and 3. Come along and support your child and celebrate some of the amazing cultures in our school.
During the summer months we take sun safety very seriously. We provide sunscreen and promote Sun Safe practices.
ALL students MUST have a hat to wear at school in Terms 1 and 4. School hats are available for purchase by contacting our office. They also must have water for school and be wearing appropriate clothing.
Kia Kaha Programme
This programme is run in conjunction with the NZ Police. It involves teaching children about bullying and developing strategies to deal with situations should they arise and who they can seek help from if needed.
Food For Thought Programme
As part of our Health programme this term we are participating in the Food For Thought programme. Parents are welcome to attend class sessions and we will need helpers for our supermarket trip (notices will come out closer to the time). This programme is supported by the NZ Heart Foundation and Health Promoting Schools.
Dates: Class visits 28th and 29th November
Supermarket visits: 4th and 5th December
As part of our EOTC programme we have been presented with 3 opportunities - the children will have the opportunity to participate in one due to numbers. We will need LOTS of parent helpers, permission forms will come home soon. We will be combining all Year 5 & 6 classes so will be mixed throughout the activities.
