ABOUT BPS FORMATIVE ASSESSMENTS

District Assessment System. BPS implements a Balanced Assessment System that is designed to support our district goals of eliminating opportunity gaps and accelerating learning. Our district assessments system provides teachers, administrators, students, parents, the district, and the greater Boston community with ongoing information and data about student learning and progress across BPS. About Formative Assessments. Formative assessments are Assessments FOR Learning, rather than Assessments OF Learning, that provide educators with data to understand student learning, inform teaching & instruction, and ensure every student gets what they need to succeed!For SY23-24, BPS assessments will remain focused on the district's instructional priority of Equitable Literacy--where every student and every classroom has access to standards-aligned, culturally and linguistically responsive literacy instruction every single day. ACCESS: Refer to this FAQ document for information about ACCESS testing and contact Donna Le with any questions.
