Summer Training

This summer Middle and High School Trailblazers got started with the online SDPBC SMART Digital Educator course and attend a one day face-to-face SMART panel training. By completing this blended summer training program, Trailblazer teachers are now well prepared to use the SMART software and panels in their classrooms to facilitate engaging and collaborative activities.

Step 1: Register for For Face-to-Face Training Today

All you need to do now is let us know your preferred days for the one day training. To register, use the link that was sent to Secondary School Trailblazers via your District email account on June 21. Note: This first group of trainings for summer 2018 is for District Middle and High School Trailblazers only.

Step 2: Complete SMART Digital Educator Online Training

Middle and High School Trailblazer teachers will complete a three hour online course customized for Palm Beach by SMART as the first step to becoming a SMART Digital Educator. This course should be completed prior to the one day of face-to-face training. There is no certification exam for this course, just complete the lessons and enjoy learning about the SMART tools in this low stakes environment. When you are ready to get started, follow the directions on the Google Doc link that was sent to Secondary School Trailblazers via your District email account on June 21.

Step 3: Attend the One Day Face-To-Face Training

As the final step to becoming a SMART Digital Educator, middle and high school Trailblazers will attend a one day face-to-face training between July 23rd and August 3rd at Lake Worth High School. Yes, you get to play with the panels at this training---20 touch displays will be spread across the 4 training rooms for lots of small group practice! During these sessions, SMART professional development specialists will be guiding you through content-aligned, hands-on activities with both the SMART software and hardware. Upon completion of this face-to-face training, you will earn 15 inservice points and be qualified to use the SMART Digital Educator badge to promote your new skills.

The training day times will be from 8:45-4:15. After you register (step 1 above), a Google Calendar Meeting invitation will be sent via District email indicating the day of training assigned. Every effort will be made to send your assigned training date out with as much advance notice as possible. If you have not received notice of your training date within two business days of registering, please let us know.
