Journalism I is an elective course designed to give students an overview of the different types of journalistic writing and knowledge of publications production. Student who like to read, write, and ask questions are apt to succeed in Journalism I. This course will equip students with an understanding of the principles and practice of journalism: how to recognize good stories, gather facts through skillful interviewing and research, develop sources, craft welcoming leads and satisfying endings, and create news and feature articles that inform and engage readers.
