Title I Programs are designed to improve academic outcomes for all students by strengthening instruction, promoting a culture of high expectations, engaging and empowering families, ensuring safe and healthy learning conditions, and providing a broad range of student supports.

Title 1 Parents' Right to Know

  • We recognize the importance parents and families play in Title I schools. We strive to parents and families by providing capacity building training opportunities to improve students' academic success.

  • Passage of the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA) placed greater emphasis on parent and family engagement.

  • This information is applicable to all District Title I schools and is updated on an annual basis.

School-Parent Compact

A School-Parent Compact is an agreement between the principal, teachers, parents, and students outlining how each will help improve student academic achievement (part of PFEP). All stakeholders acknowledge receipt and agree to support each other’s efforts to improve student achievement.

Parent and Family Engagement Plan (PFEP)

The PFEP is a jointly developed plan that describes how the school will involve parents to improve academic achievement. Families are provided a written summary of the accepted PFEP in appropriate languages.

Title 1 Annual Meeting

Schools must conduct a dedicated parent meeting in which specific information about Title I is shared including decision making opportunities and the school’s SWP.
