On Wednesday, October 18, AP Seminar students visited the FAU historical vault filled with real-life books from the past detailing first or second-hand accounts of historical events. The FAU Field trip is a part of the AP Seminar Program. AICE Global and AP Seminar teacher Marissa Kingham planned the trip with other faculty members as a more hands-on way to learn about research from professionals.
At the historical vault, AP Seminar students saw the first English translation of the Quran and learned how to take different perspectives into consideration. In the Printing Press room, students learned how news spread before printers and computers were available. At the Jaffe Museum, students discovered several different forms of art; some felt that one of the most interesting parts of visiting the museum was how artists used books to make art. Overall, The trip to FAU was an incredible learning experience for sophomores in the AP Seminar Program.
