- At the top of this site, you will be able to navigate to the Assignment Expectations page and the Resources page along with this Home page.
- Under Assignment Expectations, you will see the assignment expectations and specifications that you are to follow for this project.
- Next. there is a document on thesis statement support to help you develop a good thesis statement for this specific topic.
- You will also be able to view scholarly journal resources. There is a Q&A to help you learn about this skill, a graphic organizer to help you extract useful information from the article that you use, and a scholarly journal rubric that will be used to grade how well you have filled out your scholarly graphic organizer (20 points total.)
- Next, you will see annotated bibliography resources. There is a Q&A to help you learn about this skill, a quick start guide that you can use to help you write your annotations, an annotated bibliography rubric (which will be used to grade your annotated bibliography (50 points total.) , and a side by side example of two annotated bibliography entries and feedback about how well they have written their annotations.
- Following, there are additional resources that are there to help you with writing, as needed.
- Underneath, you will see a rough draft checklist to check your writing against prior to turning in your final draft.
- Finally, there is an Persuasive Writing Rubric that totals 20 points, however the final grade will be multiplied by five to give you a total of 100 points possible for your written paper.
- Note: For this project you will be graded against three rubrics: The persuasive essay rubric (100 pts.) and the annotated bibliography rubric (50 pts.) and the scholarly journal rubric (10 pts.).
- Finally, there is a link to Research check-in's for each class period which will allow your instructors to gauge your needs at a mid-point during this research project.
- Under Resources, you will be able to link to hand-picked primary sources, articles (secondary analysis), and scholarly journal articles. You MUST at least six sources, two scholarly journal articles in your research, one primary source, and one book along with two additional sources of your choosing. You are not required to use the hand-selected sources, but it is highly advised that you do.
