Let's Connect!
This time of year highlights the power of community. Families, staff, and neighbors join together to cheer at games, attend concerts, volunteer at fall festivals, and support one another in countless ways. These moments remind us that education is not only about what happens during the school day but also about the connections we build beyond it.
We are grateful for the partnership of our community as we look forward to an exciting fall full of accomplishments and shared memories. Enjoy this week's Patch!

Your guide to timely information in the Palisades School District.
The deadline for submitting clearances to the district for the current is school year is October 31st. Any clearances submitted after that time may be accepted but volunteering opportunities may be denied until the following school year.
Clearances must be current within a year of the date on which you submit them to the district. Clearances and TB test results can be submitted to the building in which you wish to volunteer, or mailed to the Superintendent's secretary's office at Palisades School District, 39 Thomas Free Drive, Kintnersville, PA 18930.
Complete information can be found on our website.
See the class options on our website. Ceramics, Qi Gong, Pickleball, Yoga, Meditation, Volleyball, and more! Check back frequently as new classes will continue to be added.
Find out what's happening in our schools! The Palisades School District is comprised of three elementary schools (Durham Nockamixon, Springfield, and Tinicum), Palisades Middle School, and Palisades High School.
Springfield is excited to celebrate the arrival of its brand-new Panther Book Vending Machine! This fun and meaningful addition rewards students for positive behavior while fueling a love of reading. Springfield faculty and staff had enough new books available to stock the machine for the entire school year! With the help and generosity of families, and the tireless efforts of volunteers, the dream becomes a reality with a ribbon cutting in its new home in the main lobby of the school on September 19, 2025. Moving forward, book fair initiatives, family donations, and the “Buy One, Get One Free” (BOGO) promotion at the spring book fair will help keep the shelves filled with exciting titles for many years to come.
Each month, one student from every class will earn a vending token for consistently showing qualities like perseverance, leadership, kindness, and academic growth. With its custom Panther wrap and upgraded trays for picture books, the vending machine is designed for all grade levels. More than just a machine, it’s a joyful way to inspire reading, recognize achievement, and celebrate Panther Pride!
The Palisades High School Polar Plunge Team is gearing up for an exciting event with Special Olympics Pennsylvania and its Unified Sports teams: every winter, brave souls line up to take an icy Polar Plunge!
By "Taking the Plunge," participants are raising awareness and funds to help provide meaningful athletic opportunities for students of all abilities. Your donation—big or small—directly supports PHS Unified athletes, builds inclusion, and strengthens our community spirit.
You can purchase shirts at the Unified Spirit Store website or you can make a donation online at: https://give.specialolympicspa.org/team/768634
Thank you for cheering them on and supporting such an important cause. Together, we can keep inclusion at the heart of Palisades.
The PHS junior class officers are looking to sell raffle tickets at upcoming football games. They are looking for generous parents/guardians to donate raffle baskets for them to sell at the events. The money raised will help fund this year's prom.
Donations can be dropped off in the main office at the high school. Please contact Ms. Waldmann at bwaldmann@palisadessd.org or Ms. Pavey at kpavey@palisadessd.org with any questions.

We proudly present Logan Stowell, September's Student of the Month. Logan Stowell, a senior at Palisades High School, is a Diesel Technology student at UBCTS and lives in Upper Black Eddy with his little brother. Logan first got into diesel by hanging around where his dad worked. You could say his dad was his first mentor — though most of his “lessons” sounded like: "Can you grab me a wrench?" Or, "Don’t tell your mom about this."
At UBCTS, Logan has made great friends, found a mentor in his instructor, Mr. Masters, and discovered that hard work is what really makes him happy. Mr. Masters recommended Logan for Student of the Month because he is always on task, helps others around him, and takes on challenging work outside of school. He has the confidence and intellect to problem solve and critically think at a level well beyond his years. Logan is conscientious and fun to joke around with. He hardly misses school and is a big part of the positive environment in the diesel class. Logan has gotten into some pretty impressive diagnostic work at his co-op job. He's a model student for sure.
