Let's Connect!
As we step deeper into fall and toward Thanksgiving, our district is shining brighter than ever. This past week has been an incredible celebration of community, connection, and Pirate pride.
From our heartfelt Veterans' Day program to the energy of our Unified Strength & Conditioning Championship, the excitement continued with the Harlem Wizards basketball game, and our high school community embraced the powerful “Stand Up To Silence/No Place For Hate” initiative. We also hope you had a chance to experience the magic of "Peter and the Starcatcher," where our students brought extraordinary creativity, talent, and heart to the stage.
It’s been an amazing week in Palisades — full of gratitude, passion, and the very best of who we are.
Enjoy this week's edition of the Patch.
Following is a handful of photo highlights from recent events and activities. THANK YOU to our parent photographers and friends who share these photos for the newsletter every week. It would not be possible without you. You are appreciated! (Click or tap on an image to stop the carousel. Use the arrows to go forward and back at your own pace.)
Your guide to timely information in the Palisades School District.
Pride filled the air with patriotic songs while 6th grade middle school students from Palisades, Quakertown and Pennridge waved their flags and honored local veterans on Tuesday at Palisades High School.
Now in its 37th year, the Veterans Day Program, sponsored by the Upper Bucks Veterans Organization, rotates between the Pennridge School District, Quakertown Community School District and the Palisades School District.
Coordinated by the hosting district along with Commander and former State Rep. Paul Clymer and current State Rep. Craig Staats, the program includes speeches, music performances, and salutes to all branches of the military and all wars, conflicts and peacetime maneuvers for all service members.
The moving program was followed by a Thanksgiving luncheon for all attendees that was served by Palisades Middle School students.
Thank you to our participants and to all of those that have served in the U.S. armed forces for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
You can view a video of photo highlights by downloading the .mp4 file here.
To our administrators, faculty, staff and students for playing your hearts out against the world-famous Harlem Wizards on Monday night and putting on a great show for the community. Everyone had a blast!
Thank you to the Palisades Community Foundation (PCF) for hosting this fundraising event to rebuild our beloved pirate ship to the sponsors who support them!
Most importantly: THANK YOU to those of you who bought tickets, brought your families, and showed up for food and fun!
Our Palisades Community is the best!
Thank you to Dana Alkhas for the fantastic photos.

Help a Palisades community child in need this season. The Holiday Giving Tree, with tags and gift wishes, will be set up in the high school lobby from December 1st through December 12th.
Please return the gift, wrapped and with the tag attached, to the high school by December 12th. If all of the gift tags are taken, gift cards are always welcome. Gifts will be distributed to families the week of December 15th.
If you would like to make a donation before the tree is up, please visit the Palisades Community Foundation website here. PCF is collecting donations for holiday giving to families in our community and donations of any size are appreciated.
Thank you, in advance, for your generosity, to the Kids for Kindness Club at PHS for setting up and decorating the tree, and to the Palisades Community Foundation for their generous gift card donations.
Find out what's happening in our schools! The Palisades School District is comprised of three elementary schools (Durham Nockamixon, Springfield, and Tinicum), Palisades Middle School, and Palisades High School.
Over the last few weeks, the Palisades High School Debate Team traveled to argue whether the federal government should increase funding for public transportation. Both affirmative and negative teams utilized strong arguments and presentation skills. We had a great start to the season and look forward to arguing the death penalty moratorium of PA next.
Special shout-outs to: Vivienne Brichta, Willow Gomez, Alexia Lopez, Michaella Reilly, Sophia Schulz, Lauren Showmaker, Eva Wirth, and Andrew Woerz for achieving the highest possible score in one or more rounds!
Thank you to Karen Pavey for the photos!
Thursday was World Kindness Day, one of our favorite “holidays.” It’s an occasion that highlights the power of small gestures — like the efforts of the Stand Up To Silence/No Place For Hate group at Palisades High School.
“This group works to combat prejudice and to stop those who violate the civil rights of others. We endeavor to promote harmony, equality and respect. Each year the group comes up with and has the Anti-Defamation League's (ADL) approval to complete three projects to promote these ideals. We work to gain our "No Place For Hate school" designation from the ADL.”
Great work, Pirates.
BRAVO to the incredible student-run production of the Palisades High School fall play, "Peter and the Star Catcher," that ran last weekend at the high school.
Student Leaders: Ilaria Leblanc, Mikayla Irvine, Luke Ruvo, Nathan Clapp, William Zaleski, Ryan Metz and Olivia Bellis.
Peter and the Starcatcher is an imaginative prequel to Peter Pan. Through inventive staging and a fast-paced script, the play follows a ragtag group of orphans, a fearless Starcatcher-in-training, and a delightfully ridiculous pirate on a journey filled with mischief, mayhem, and discovery.
The story unfolds through clever narration, dynamic ensemble work, and plenty of laughs. Perfect for audiences of all ages, this Tony-winning play captures the excitement of storytelling while exploring themes of friendship, identity, and finding your place in the world.
Congratulations to all on a spectacular production. You are all sprinkled in Star Stuff!
What an incredible event! Congratulations on the *amazing* performances by all of our athletes from Palisades, Pennsbury, Pennridge and Souderton school districts! Our Pirates showed up and gave it their all for a strong, spirited 2nd place finish on Wednesday, 11/12/25.
The athletes competed in the DeadLift, Bench Press, Cycling, Broad Jump, Jump Rope, Speed Walk, and Shuttle Run.
PSD administrators and representatives from Special Olympics Pennsylvania came by to show their support and to award medals while teachers, students and families were in the stands cheering for our team.
Thank you to our athletic department who created a professional, fun venue and to our All-Sports Boosters who set up the snack stand on short notice! Custodial staff, teachers, students, staff and parent volunteers came together to help out.
Our deepest appreciation goes out to our dedicated coaches: Coach Dani Thomas, Coach Dawn Snyder, Coach Natalie Russo, and Coach Corey Hagan (student).
Success all around! Congratulations, Pirates!
Thank you, as ever, to Dawn Smigo, for the photos!

From Nov. 10 to Nov. 23, the Bucks County Free Library will be running a Virtual Library Card Drive for the Palisades School District! You will be able to register your child for a library card right from home and your child will receive their brand-new Bucks County Free Library card at school. Your child's library card will be good at all seven branch libraries. You are invited to browse the large collections of books, audiobooks, movies, board games, and magazines that you can borrow, all for free.
Ready to register your child for a library card? Here's how:
Click on this link to go to the online library card application for students: https://buckslib.org/school-outreach-library-card-application/
Enter the password: SchoolLibr@ryc@rd2025
If you have more than one child, fill out a separate application for each child. Students ages 14+ can fill out their applications themselves. Your application(s) will be received at the library and your child(ren)'s library card account(s) will be set up. You'll get an e-mail with the account information as soon as the account is ready and you can start using it right away, even before you have the physical card. After the drive has ended, your child will receive their physical library card at school.
We hope you enjoy the many resources the public library has to offer your child and your family!
Thank you for your support in making attendance a priority.
When your child is absent for illness or other reasons, a signed excuse must be returned to school within three days of the absence, or it will automatically be classified as an unexcused absence. You must call the absence line at your child’s school the morning of the absence before school starts. Excuse notes may be emailed to the building secretary. Legitimate reasons for a student’s absence include: illness, quarantine, recovery from an accident, required court attendance, death in the family, observance of a religious holiday, and family educational trips with prior approval of the principal. All other reasons for absence are considered unexcused. For additional information about our attendance policy, please see Policy 204 in BoardDocs for more information.
The Palisades School District will continue to provide a free breakfast for all students this school year. The PSD offers many great choices for lunch. A complete lunch can include: fruit, vegetables, meat or meat alternative, bread, roll or crackers, and/or a milk. To be considered as a meal, all lunches must include fruit or vegetables. All lunch menus are posted online here.
The cashless POS system speeds up the service lines by providing a debit account for student purchases, eliminating the need for students to handle cash during meal service times. You may pay by a check payable to Palisades Food Services, 20 School Drive, Kintnersville, PA 18930 or manage the account funding via the SchoolCafe app or online at www.schoolcafe.com.
