Hello HS Singers,
Each year, CPFA sends select students in grades 10–12 to represent our school and audition for PMEA District 12 Choir. Every participating school may nominate up to four students per voice part (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) to audition. Students will prepare two prescribed excerpts and complete a short sight-singing assessment. 9th graders are permitted to audition only for tenor 1 or 2.
ANY CPFA STUDENT IN GRADES 10-12 ENROLLED IN CURRICULAR VOCAL MUSIC CLASSES OR EXTRACURRICULAR TREBLE CHORALE IS PERMITTED TO AUDITION.
Audition Details
📅 Date: Saturday, November 22nd(morning)
📍 Location: Fugett Middle School, West Chester
Auditions typically conclude before noon, so even students involved in the fall play should not encounter a scheduling conflict.
Festival Information
🎶 Students who place in the top 20 of their voice part (Bass 1, Bass 2, etc.) will be accepted into the District 12 Choir Festival.
📅 Festival Dates: January 9–10, 2026
📍 Location: Upper Darby High School
🎤 The festival includes two full days of rehearsals, culminating in a public concert on Saturday, January 10th in the evening.
Important Commitment Note:
If you audition and are accepted, participation in the full two-day festival is mandatory per PMEA policy. Please do not audition if you already know you cannot commit to the festival dates. Last-minute withdrawals (except for illness) prevent another deserving student from participating and reflect poorly on our program.
Key Details
Meals: Provided by the host school during the festival
Cost: All audition and festival fees are covered by PALCS
Transportation: Families are responsible for transportation to/from auditions (Fugett MS) and, if selected, to/from the festival (Upper Darby HS)
