Annelise Binois-Roman has been a lecturer in zooarchaeology at the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne (France) since 2019. Drawing on her initial training and professional experience as a veterinary surgeon (National veterinary school of Alfort (ENVA), 2004), her PhD (2017) focused on the identification and diagnosis of animal mass mortality events in the archaeological record. She has since expanded her research to a variety of health-related issues in past animals ; she currently holds a chair of the Île-de-France region focusing on the impacts on animal health on medieval societies. Annelise Binois-Roman is a member of B2C, with an interest in what parchment can teach us about past animal disease.
