Thank you to Walt George at the PA State Capitol for working with us on the exhibit. Finally, thank you to the members of PAEA who stepped up and helped out - shout out to Becky Hughes, Melissa Gallagher, Andrea Klein, and our president, Benjamin Hoffman.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the PAEA member art teachers who participated in the 2023 Youth Art Month (YAM) Exhibit. 


The 2023 award ceremony and reception took place on Thursday, March 30th at 5 PM via Zoom. Please enjoy the recording from the event. 

The 24 awarded works are displayed at the PA State Capitol in the East Wing Rotunda for the month of March. The exhibit will show all works reproduced on banners printed by Fresh Artists. Students in the Rotunda exhibit will receive a Certificate of Excellence and a Blick art gift card.

2023 YAM Jurors

Josh Weiss

Josh Weiss is an artist and designer who has lived and worked in the Philadelphia area for over a decade. As an instructor his areas of focus are foundation level courses: Two-Dimensional Design, Color Theory, Three-Dimensional Design, Introductory Drawing, Figure Drawing, and Space/Time.


Josh’s studio practice explores the nuances of layered shape, form and color to create complex surfaces and abstracted spaces of entropy. His work has been shown regionally and nationally.


Josh received his MFA in 2001 from Yale University and his BFA in 1997 from The Savannah College of Art and Design.

Nancy Agati

Nancy Agati is a Philadelphia artist whose multidisciplinary work includes works on paper, sculpture, site-specific installation, and public art. Agati holds a BFA from Alfred University, School of Art & Design, NY, and an MFA from The University of the Arts, Philadelphia. She has exhibited her work widely throughout Philadelphia and nationally. Recent projects about nature and the environment were created for the New Jersey Coastal Climate Resilience Project and the FLOW exhibit at The Independence Seaport Museum, Philadelphia. In 2022, Agati received the Ecotopian Toolmaker Award from the Penn Program in Environmental Humanities and

an Illuminate the Arts Grant from the City of Philadelphia. Agati’s work is in several public collections, including the Pennsylvania Convention Center and Temple University, Fox School of Business. Agati, a lifelong arts educator, is honored to serve as a juror for the 2023 Youth Art Month exhibition



Kaya R. Wielopolski

Kaya R. Wielopolski holds a Masters of Fine Art in printmaking and has been teaching visual art

in New York City’s public schools for the past 18 years. She also regularly facilitates

Professional Development workshops in the Visual Arts for New York City Public School

Teachers.
