"Most importantly, my classroom is a place to dream: to respond to the world as it is and imagine the world as it could be."
"In my classroom, art is for everyone."
"Art gives ALL learners a voice. One that speaks through color, sound, movement, and imagination."
"I create space for students to take ownership of their learning. They make the invisible visible and bring to light the thoughts and emotions that words alone can’t always express. Through creativity and collaboration, students learn how to listen, how to share, and how to see the world through someone else’s eyes."
Dr. Jamie Linn Brown holds a BS in Art Education from Kutztown University (2002), an MEd in Art Education from Millersville University (2008), and an EdD in Transformational Teaching and Learning from Kutztown University (2020).
"I invite young people to connect what they're learning to what they're living. Whether it's incorporating another art form—like music, drama, dance, or visual art—or personal interests, experiences, or causes, the process helps them solve problems, think differently, and explore new ways of understanding."
