Update: Padakshep helped Palash with one-time grant to cover his college application expenses, in response to the economic duress due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19 virus. He has chosen to opt for state government scholarship and hence Padakshep scholarship has been discontinued.
Financial Condition: Palash lives in Malancha, Uttar Dinajpur with his parents and two younger sisters, studying in class 10 and 7, respectively. Father is a farm labourer, does not own any land. They own their tin roof earthen house, with only one room, bedroom for the siblings and doubles up as the kitchen, the parents sleep in the open veranda. They are currently paying a loan for home repair, to Bandhan Bank. The family income is Rs.36,000 ($500) per year. Palash had often worked along with his father, on occasions.
Ambition: He wants to do research in Geography.
