Adiantum aleuticum

Description

The Maidenhair Fern’s scientific name is Adiantum Aleuticum. The Maidenhair Fern has green leaves with dark brown or black stems.  They also have fan-shaped fronds

Geography: 

The Maidenhair Fern is native to North America. It also grows in Oregon!

Growing Conditions:

It needs moist but well drained soil. The best kind of soils are chalk, clay, loam, or sand. 

Survival Traits

Did you know it survives because deer don’t like it. It is also disease free.

Did you know that a lot of animals use it for shelter? 

Lifecycle and Reproduction: 

It can live for fifteen years! It spreads by its spores.

They grow up to 18-30 in tall. It grows in large colonies.
