Description:
Western clematis grows on streamside thickets, pine woods, and moist regions near sagebrush. Its blossoms look like hairy flower pods. It can reach heights of 9m (30 ft) high. Through summer, leafy panicles of creamy white blossoms ornament surrounding foliage. Western clematis also attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.
Interesting Facts:
Western clematis is toxic and can cause skin irritations or internal bleeding to the digestive tract if eaten in large amounts.
