Description: The Oregon grape flowers are bright yellow.
The base of the flower are three greenish yellow bracts.
It has very spiky leaves.The berries are dark dusty blue.
The leaves are tipped with sharp defensive spines AKA spinous.
The leaves have a spiked leaf margin.
Interesting Facts: The Oregon grape is the Oregon state flower.
In other places it is considered an invasive exotic species.
It usually grows in shady places.
The name comes from holly.
