As you can see from the pictures on the left, the hike was a success and the participants enjoyed themselves!
Please join our first-ever Oxford and Cambridge Society hike on Sunday June 27th, starting out at 9:00am (rain date Sunday July 11th).
This will be a short hike in the Middlesex Fells Reservation. The Fells is an easily accessible state park, established in the 1890s, of more than 2200 acres spread over five towns north of Boston: Malden, Medford, Melrose, Stoneham, and Winchester. Our hike will go over varying terrain and through changing scenery, and it will conclude at Wright Tower, with a view south toward Boston. It will be approximately 3 miles and take about an hour and a half, depending upon our speed and whether participants would like to lengthen or shorten it.
The hike is moderately demanding with no single ascent of more than 200 feet, but participants should be comfortable on a brisk walk when in town and not be subject to any infirmities that constrain their ability to go uphill and down.
Participation is limited to ten, please register no more than one additional guest. When you sign up, you will be sent suggestions for dress, what to bring, and directions to our starting point. The hike will be led by Adam Apt.
