1. Who we are
Owvie is a children’s audio stories app operated by Owvie (“we”, “us”, “our”), based out of India. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you or your child use our app. Owvie is designed for families and young children. We collect only the minimum information needed to operate the app.
2. Information we collect
a) Information you provide to us
Parent or guardian contact details (such as email address or name) when you contact us for support or feedback.
Subscription and purchase information when a parent or guardian completes an in-app purchase through Apple’s App Store.
We collect personal information only from parents or guardians and not directly from children.
b) Information collected automatically
When you use Owvie, we may collect:
Basic usage information (for example: which stories are played, how long the app is used, app version, device type).
Diagnostic data such as crash logs and performance information to improve stability and fix bugs.
We do not knowingly collect:
Children’s full names, postal addresses, phone numbers, or precise GPS location.
Photos, videos, contacts, or other content from your device.
Owvie offers optional paid subscriptions using Google, Apple’s in-app purchase systems. All payment processing is handled by Google and Apple; we do not receive your full credit card or payment details.
Google, Apple may provide us with limited information about the transaction, such as:
An anonymous transaction identifier
The subscription product purchased
Country or region of purchase
We use this information only to:
Confirm that your subscription is active
Unlock premium content and features in the app
Maintain internal records for customer support and accounting
We may use the information described above to:
Provide, operate and maintain the app and its features
Manage subscriptions and access to content
Improve story recommendations and overall app experience
Monitor performance, fix bugs and prevent misuse
Respond to support requests from parents or guardians
We do not sell personal data and we do not show third-party ads to children.
Owvie is intended to be used by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. Any purchases or subscription changes must be completed by an adult using their Google or Apple ID.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible. If you believe this has happened, please contact us at support@owvie.com.
We store data only for as long as necessary to:
Provide the service and manage subscriptions
Comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations
Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements
When data is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.
We may use third-party services such as analytics and crash-reporting tools to understand how the app is used and to improve performance and stability.
We may also use third-party platforms such as Meta (Facebook) and Google for advertising and attribution purposes to promote our app outside of the app (for example, showing ads on other platforms).
These services may collect device-level information such as device identifiers, usage data, and interaction data for analytics and campaign measurement purposes. We do not use these services to display advertisements within the app.
