Consideration of the cultural and historic background of the areas where the language is spoken, and readings designed to introduce students to German culture and literature. Readings and discussion of selected prose and poetry to prepare the student to read German literature and contemporary magazines and newspapers. Prerequisite: GERM 111 or equivalent. Fall
