Welcome to the Counseling Department! I am so glad to serve the parents, students, and community of North Adams High School.
This website is to help keep you informed of what is going on in the school in regards to Academics, College and Career Readiness, and Social-Emotional awareness. Important Dates to Remember!
August
Open House
Open House for all students is scheduled for August 13,2024 from 3-6pm.
September
Senior Parent Meeting - 9.4 and 9.11
This will be an overview of all things senior! Come and ask any question you may have!
October
ASVAB
The ASVAB, a career interest inventory, will be given to all Juniors and those Seniors who wish to retest on Friday, October 4th, 2024 in the round room. The ASVAB Interpretation for all those who take the exam will be held on Friday, December 6th, 2024.
PSAT/NMSQT
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying (PSAT/NMSQT) Test is scheduled to given by Mrs. Ohnewehr on Wednesday, October 9th during the school day. The cost is $17 for students. Any sophomore or junior is eligible and must sign up in the office before September 10th.
College Fair - October 3rd, 2024 from 10-1.
November
Americanism Test
The Americanism test will be given to all students 9-12 the week of the general election. All virtual and CCP students are encouraged to come to the school and complete the test.
CTC Visit
Sophomores will visit the CTC on TBD during the school day. It is on this day that the students will be selecting their choices for their programs of interest.

End of Semester - Dec 20, 2024
Financial Aid Night- TBD
TBD will host a Financial Aid Night on TBD. Also, please see the video page for more information. Senior students, graduating juniors, and their parents and guardians are welcomed and encouraged to attend to learn more about Financial Aid and the FAFSA and obtain help with FAFSA completion. The financial aid night will return when it is safe to do so.
Please create your FSA ID and have one of your parent/guardian(s) create an FSA ID before that night so you will be able to work on your FAFSA. You can create this at https://fsaid.ed.gov. When creating FSA ID, DO NOT use your school email. Also, you and your parent/guardian CANNOT use the same email or phone.
January
College Credit Plus Informational Meetings
The College Credit Plus information session will be held on Wednesday, Jan 7th in the Round Room at 6PM. Students currently enrolled in grades 6 through 11 who are interested in participating taking college courses during the 2025-26 school year and their parents or guardians must be in attendance. Current CCP students who are taking courses off of the NAHS campus can stop in for the paperwork at their convenience. All other CCP students will need to attend.
February
Mandatory Junior Meeting
February 14th, 2025
The meeting will take place at 11:45 in the school round room. Please be on time.
At this meeting, we will be giving out CCP forms, covering the graduation plans, and prepping for the ACT.
ACT for Juniors
As a junior, the state gives you the opportunity to take the ACT at your home high school. The state test date is February 25th, 2025
In order to test, you must fill out a registration form before testing. These dates are listed above.
Testing
On test date, please bring a valid ID, an ACT approved calculator, and any pencil and erasers you need.
