Upper Robotics

In the first session we will be building and programming Lego Mindstorm EV3/NXT robots to compete in a series of robot challenges, like Robot Races and Robot Sumo Also, we will be working through a series of video tutorials to learn 3D modeling in a program called SketchUp. Finally, we will practice soldering using Elenco circuit board kits, learning the basic components that go into making electronic circuits.

In our second session we will be building and programming Actobotics robots, using the same robotics system as the Ojai Valley School FTC Competitive Robotics team! Also, we will be working through a series of programming tutorials on Code Academy to learn basic coding in the Java programming language. Finally, we will be working with Arduino micro-controllers, to build the smart-house of the future, with working lights, doorbell, and other cool features!
