This training is all about training and empowering all staff across Outwood who regularly manage the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process. An RFQ is a formal way of inviting suppliers to submit a bid for a specific product or service, ensuring you get the best value for money.  Navigating procurement can seem daunting, but it's a vital part of running an effective MAT. A transparent and efficient procurement process ensures public funds are used wisely and helps you meet legal and financial obligations, such as those set out in the new Procurement Act 2023 and the Academies Financial Handbook.

By the end of this session, you'll be able to:

• Understand the rules: Learn the key procurement thresholds and how to follow them correctly.

• Get the best value: Know how to create a clear RFQ that attracts competitive and quality bids.

• This short course will introduce delegates to the literacy skills necessary in the English classroom, together with an overview of the reading and writing skills that KS3 calls for. The course will explore the rationale behind our KS3 curriculum, as well as introduction to the curriculum itself. We will also discuss what good marking and feedback looks like and what we mean by age-related expectations for our KS3 students. We will place this knowledge in the context of the KS4 and KS5 outcomes we anticipate for our students.

• Guidance around the policy and practice to be followed when conducting HR investigations, including preparing for and presenting at a hearing.

This session will equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to confidently deal with injuries and medical emergencies arising from sporting activities, including:

• Conducting a primary survey

• Adult and child resuscitation (CPR)

• Bone, muscle and joint injuries (new ankle Ottawa rules)

• Chest pain (unexplained) 

• Communication and casualty care

• Head injuries

• Heat and cold extremes

• Managing a casualty outdoors

• Minor and severe bleeding

• Shock

• Unresponsive adult and child

Please note, this course is not recognised by the Health and Safety Executive so does accredit attendees as first aiders.  Those wishing to gain an accredited first aid qualification may 'top up' by completing either the one day or three day first aid training available through the OIE.

Designed and delivered by Julie Slater, this unique programme is aimed at current and aspiring female leaders, exploring what makes a successful leader and how to overcome any barriers they may face on their journey. Julie candidly shares her own inspiring journey into senior/executive leadership.

The programme is open to all female teaching and support staff colleagues actively considering their next step into leadership or headship, and complements the leadership NPQs and High Potential Leadership programmes.
