Prevent sits alongside long-established safeguarding duties on professionals to protect people from a range of harms and is one part of the government's overall counter-terrorism strategy. Its aim is to:

• tackle the ideological causes of terrorism 

• intervene early to support people susceptible to radicalisation 

• enable people who have already engaged in terrorism to disengage and rehabilitate

All staff working in education, a sector covered by the Prevent Duty, must have an awareness of Prevent. For roles with higher level safeguarding responsibilities (ie. governors, senior leaders, DSLs and DDSLs), staff must complete more in-depth training.

• This day-long CPD session will offer insights in the GCSE English Literature specification and its assessment structure. It will help colleagues to develop their understanding of recent assessments through a review of exemplar materials and marking practice. Colleagues will also develop and improve their understanding of subject themes, topics and skills which will be valuable in the classroom. Colleagues will also be able to network with subject specialists and colleagues from schools across OGAT.

• Common sports injuries (sprains, strains, and fractures)
