• An understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the Designated Safeguarding Lead

• Information and source documentation for the legislative and good practice requirements for safeguarding children

• Clarity around what safeguarding arrangements should be in place to keep children safe

• An understanding of what to do if safeguarding concerns are raised and how to support staff to recognise these

• An opportunity to reflect on current practice and make changes to better safeguard children and young people

• This session is designed for staff who regularly will be using OCloud to assist them leading on behaviour.  It is highly recommended that leaders new to leading in Deep Support attend.  The session will demonstrate key functions of OCloud to ensure it is being used effectively.  We will look at future developments and explain how staff can suggest new features.  Staff from our central Trust digital service team will be available to assist questions that arise during the session.  This will be a virtual meeting.

This session is a introduction to the UCL Centre for Holocaust Education’s ‘Beacon School programme’, exploring what the programme consists of and whether it would be appropriate for your school and your department. The free programme involves expert CPD from the Centre’s staff, residential trips to London and Berlin, and an four-term programme of mentoring to develop rigorous, research-informed teaching about the Holocaust in your school.

This session is designed to enable leaders to carry out effective investigations that will enable the Principal to reach accurate decisions.  As part of the session, we will explore the legal process of suspensions and permanent exclusions.  Information regarding how a Pupil Disciplinary Panel (permanent exclusion hearing) and Independent Review Panel (IRP) are conducted will be explored, with an emphasis on the challenge leaders will face during this process.
