Facilitator: Paramedical First Aid
This session will equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to confidently deal with injuries and medical emergencies arising from sporting activities, including:
Conducting a primary survey
Adult and child resuscitation (CPR)
Bone, muscle and joint injuries (NEW ankle Ottawa rules)
Chest pain (unexplained)
Communication and casualty care
Head injuries
Heat and cold extremes
Managing a casualty outdoors
Minor and severe bleeding
Shock
Unresponsive adult and child
Please note, this course is not recognised by the Health and Safety Executive so does accredit attendees as first aiders. Those wishing to gain an accredited first aid qualification may 'top up' by completing either the one day or three day first aid training available through the OIE.
