Anthony Chabot

Anthony Chabot is a 19th century businessman. Anthony Chabot was born in Saint-Hyacinthe in 1813 and died at the age of 74 1888 in Oakland, California. He was famous for hydraulic mining (Hydraulic mining was where the water delivered to the site would be shot through a nozzle at high pressure onto the face of the cliff, and washing away tons of boulders, gravel, dirt in the hopes of finding gold).
