Oakland is doing a volunteer thing called Adopt a Drain. You can adopt a drain anywhere in Oakland ( We recommend as close to your house as possible. ) Then after each storm you clean and clear out the drain so it doesn't clog up which can cause a flood. Plus you get to name the Drain a cute name. Adopting a drain comes with a big responsibility but can help you get out of the house when you are feeling lazy or bored.

(This may seem like a waste of time, but it is helping your community and it is a very simple thing to do.)
