Next Generation FOSS Investigation Resources on ThinkLink!
Our Scope and Sequence documents for Investigations 1-5 reference resources found on ThinkLink. These additional and optional resources below have been developed by OUSD District Wide Science Teacher Leaders and the OUSD STEM Team. They can be used alongside the FOSS Scope and Sequence to support this investigation's learning both at home and at school, but should not be used as a replacement for district curriculum for the rest of the year.
Launch Purpose
This investigation is not required, but is highly recommended to help you introduce hands-on science routines and create a class community culture based on inquiry and the joy of exploration before the NGSS FOSS units begin in October. By engaging in these beginning of the year activities, students will build upon their natural curiosity, see themselves as scientists through windows and mirrors, and be introduced to science tools.
