Daily News

The Daily News page will be updated regularly by our Head Teacher, Mr Smith, providing our community with important news from the school.

25/9/2017: The OLSP Parent Council have contacted local bus company, McColl's to discuss options to organise a bus service for those pupils who live in the East End of the town and who are no longer entitled to free school transport once the new school building in Bellsmyre opens on Wednesday 25 October. McColl's have now put a proposal together and are keen to discuss these directly with those families directly affected. There will therefore be a meeting for parents/carers of students from the East End of the town in the school library at 6.00pm on Thursday 28 September. The route at the moment is based on the existing Milton School bus (8040), but there is scope to amend this and to enable more pupils to make use of the service. Liam McColl will attend the meeting to discuss the options available to parents/carers and their children. Further information will be made available via the Parent Council Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ourladyandstpatricks/

24/8/2017: Our school diary has been updated and can be viewed below. Please note that our Christmas Concert will now take place on Thursday 14 December. Thank you.

24/8/2017: We would like to express our gratitude to all of the emergency services and support services who assisted us yesterday during the incident involving our school bus on the Renton Road. As you will have seen on the national news, a number of our students were transported to hospital where they received treatment for minor injuries. Many have returned to school today along with their bus driver and bus monitor who were also directly involved in the incident. Our thanks go to parents/carers and families who worked closely with us yesterday for all of their support and assistance in ensuring that all young people were well cared for. The senior staff were exceptional in ensuring that school continued to run smoothly as well as attending the scene of the incident to support those young people directly involved. Michelle Annandale, our Youth engagement officer, and her colleagues were incredible and collated all details of the children involved and coordinated all matters relating to hospital treatment and transport. Our colleagues from McColl's buses also worked very closely with us to ensure that we had all of the necessary information throughout the course of the day. West Dunbartonshire Education Department provided considerable support throughout the day and we have additional help over the next few days to support our young people directly affected.

We never expect these types of events to happen, however the team effort of all parties involved yesterday was exceptional and we continue to be very grateful for all of their assistance and support.

Thank you.
