Who We Are

The Old Town - Orono YMCA, in partnership with Maine Regional School Unit 34 , runs the River Runners program, a six-year youth mentoring program for middle school and high school students growing up in Old Town, Bradley, and Alton.  River Runners is made possible by the generous support of the Rural Futures Fund, as part of the Aspirations Incubator, a six-year pilot initiative designed to raise and sustain the postsecondary aspirations of students growing up in rural Maine.  The Aspirations Incubator is focused on determining the conditions necessary to successfully launch and maintain a long-term, comprehensive youth development model for 7th-12th grade students in rural communities.
