Reading Activities
Over the next three weeks here are a range of activities for you to work on. Some might involve you creating a digital learning object or some you might choose to create offline. You can choose to complete them in any order. You might have another idea too. Talk to Louise about what you would like to create to show your understanding and connection to your novel.
Have a look at the covers of your favourite books, what catches your eye?
Front cover - draw and colour an illustration. It must include the title and author
Inside Front flap - write a description of the main characters
Inside back flap - write a short summary
Back cover - Write 5 quotes that are important to the story.
Digital tools: google drawings, slides, docs
Draw or paint a portrait of a character from the novel. Include a description of them.

What setting would you paint them in?
Design a poster advertising Kaitangata Bay.
Imagine you are encouraging people to come and holiday there

Make a 10 question quiz about Kaitangata Twitch.
Avoid yes or no questions
Include the answers

Write a letter to Gary Paulson. Include all the elements of a friendly letter (date, greeting, body, closing)

Design or create a soundtrack to emphasise a part of the story.
Use Screencastify to record it add it as a backing track to the book trailer you create.
A Zine is hand made mini magazine. Create a Zine to retell your favourite part of the novel.
