SUNY Oswego HSC 470 Implementation Program
Introduction
Hello everyone, my name is Arianna, and I am a student at SUNY Oswego. I am a dual major in Wellness Management and Psychology. I created this program because there is a great need for emotional/mental health resources for college students specifically those who are commuters or live off-campus.
This program is specifically designed asynchronously for those who are busy with school, work, personal life affairs, and everything in-between. Not all college attendees are your typical student so I cultivated a program that will reach all participants despite their lifestyles.
In this program you will learn the importance of emotional/mental health, mental health issues you may face during this time in your life as a college student, how common mental illnesses are, yoga and breathing techniques to cope with stress, benefits of social support, hotlines for mental health counseling, and ways to efficiently help yourself through methods of self-care.
Educate and bring awareness to college students specifically off-campus/ remote students who have limited access to resources about mental health and how to combat stress through self-care activities.
Goals and Objectives
Learn about mental illnesses and how common they are amongst college students
Instruct breathing techniques in order to minimize outside stressors
Brainstorm Self-Care activities that can help reduce stress and improve mental health
