My Education & Experience

My Name is Stacy Myers and I am thrilled to be your child's 2nd grade teacher! I graduated from California State University of Long Beach in 1999 with a BA in Liberal Studies. I received my teaching credential in 2001. In 2000, I began my journey in education as a 3rd grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary in Long beach. I continued to teach at Lincoln, even after I married and moved to Oceanside. After 6 years of teaching in Long Beach, I took time away to stay home with my family.

I began teaching in the Oceanside Unified School district in 2014. I began as a reading intervention teacher, then moved into a 2nd grade position. I am very grateful to be a part of such an amazing community of staff, students, and family.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that my role as a teacher is not to simply teach, but, to guide my students so that they will be explorers of knowledge by themselves. Together, we will develop a classroom environment, which will allow us to achieve the goals that we have set in place for ourselves. As a class, we will build a community in which everyone feels safe and conductive to learning. I believe that we should all feel comfortable to make mistakes, take risks, and grow together in our failures and successes. We will accomplish this by setting the rules and procedures for the class together. We will also learn to work cohesively together in groups as well as independently. It is in my best interest and ability to serve as an exemplifying model for each and every one of my students.

My Family

My pride and joy are my husband and three children; My husband, Rudy, who grew up in Oceanside, My enthusiastic daughter Makena, my adventurous son Kai, and my very ambitious son Talin. I enjoy traveling with my family, playing with our dog Kala, boating in Lake Havasu Arizona, and relaxing at the beach.
