State of Florida only. The Notary Section of the Executive Office of the Governor is housed within the Office of the General Counsel because Florida notaries are public officers appointed and commissioned by the Governor.
All documents must be original, unexpired, and unsigned. Valid government identification must be presented. Photocopies are not accepted. The notary must physically examine the documentation in the presence of the parties.

Required Documentation:
A valid government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver's license or passport).
The document(s) to be notarized (unsigned until in the presence of the notary).
Any additional signers or witnesses, if required by the document.
Clients:
Individuals, and
Businesses: real estate, financial institutions (banks, mortgage lenders), healthcare providers, educational institutions, insurance, government agencies, title companies, and construction.
Required Documentation:
One document from List A (e.g., U.S. Passport, Permanent Resident Card), OR
One document from List B (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID), AND
One document from List C (e.g., Social Security card, birth certificate)
Clients:
Individuals, and
Businesses: real estate, financial institutions (banks, mortgage lenders), healthcare providers, educational institutions, insurance, government agencies, title companies, and construction.
Required Documentation:
Marriage License
Issued by the county clerk in the state where the marriage is taking place.
Both parties must have signed it (and sometimes sworn an oath) before the notary-officiant can perform the ceremony.
Valid Photo Identification
Each party must present a government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport) to verify identity.
Witnesses (if required) may also need to provide ID.
Optional Requirements
Some counties require a certificate of marriage or ceremonial statement in addition to the official license.
Some states require one or two witnesses during the ceremony who must also sign the license.
