Learning Habitat 1 LH1
Welcome to Learning Habitat 1, where Year 1, 2 and 3 Learners are embarking on a magical learning adventure, please join us on our journey.
In Term 1 of 2017, Learning Habitat 1 will be thinking about how we can be part of an effective collaborative community. The Learning Coaches - Mr Dyer, Miss Morgan, Mrs Moopanar and Miss Lavakula are very excited to be travelling on this magical learning journey with the LH1 learners and can't wait to see the learners develop and grow through out the year.
We are also lucky enough to have the support of the English Language Learning Assistants to provide extra support in educating our English Language Learners in the habitat. Our ELLA's, as we call them, that you may see in the habitat are; Mrs Telfer, Mrs Paraha, Mrs Kiki and Mrs Patterson. Sometimes we are even joined by Mrs Wilkes and Mr McNeil as they can't resist our #Oresome learning! LH3 Learning Coaches will also become familiar faces being our neighbours upstairs.
This year we are excited to have KDEC learners joining our habitat and sharing their NZSL knowledge and capabilities with us. KDEC teachers such as Miss Francis and Mrs Kobayashi will also be familiar faces as they will join us, supporting and educating our hard of hearing/deaf learners.
We are ready and eager to collaborate, develop our capabilities and curiosities, and make connections with our #LH1derful habitat learners and their family / whanau, as well as the wider community.
Mrs Moopanar is a new learning coach who started in term 4, 2016. She is excited about working collaboratively with other Learning Coaches designing learning opportunities for the students she teaches. She loves spending time with her family and friends.
It is with much excitement that I write to you as a proud father, learning coach and member of our Ormiston community.
2017 will be a year for us all to grow our boundless Capabilities. Through brave Curiosity and purposeful Collaboration, we can Connect with our school, wider community and the world. Let's play our part and make great things happen. Let's make 2017 #LH1DERFUL!
I am excited to be moving upstairs to make part of the #LH1derful team and look forward to helping our fabulous learners problem solve to find different tools and strategies to help us be collaborative, curious, connected and capable in all of our learning.
I have two cats who are my furr babies and beautiful nieces and nephews that I love spending time with. I also love to dance, go for walks, wakeboard and read in my spare time.

Going to the gym, reading and listening to music are some things I like to do in my spare time.
