I have been teaching science at OCS since 1995. I have taught Chemistry, Biology, AP courses, Anatomy & Physiology, and Forensics. I also advise TATF and Science club which include activities like blood drives, canal clean ups, and Envirothon competitions. Looking forward to another great school year!

Expectations:
-check email and Google Classroom daily
-bring a charged Chromebook to class and lab
-be in attendance
-ask questions
-do all assignments/labs on time...beginning of class
-get help when needed
-contact me for assignments when absent from class
-Grades in School Tools will be updated weekly. Emails will be sent as needed to parents and students.
-Assignments need to be completed by the due date and time....at the beginning of class
-One day given for makeup assignments for each day of a legal absence.
-To be fair, Once an assignment is gone over in class it is no longer eligible to be counted for a grade.
-Progress reports will be sent home at weeks 5, 15, 25, 35 so students and parents can be aware of class performance and I can assess your strengths and weaknesses.
-Report cards with an average of grades earned will be sent home every 10 weeks. Grades are calculated using the following system:
Summative Assessments: Unit & Course: Understanding & Performance………….65% of grade
-Quizzes -Unit/chapter tests -Labs
-Essays(CER) -Projects -Presentation
Formative Assessments: Lesson Practice & Activities…………………………….35% of grade
-Independent practice on daily work…assignments and homework
-Brief progress checks…..bell ringers, reviews, warm-ups, exit tickets, forms, QOTDs
A&P Final Average: 85% Average of 4 marking periods + 15% final project
Living Environment Final Average: 85% Average of 4 marking periods + 15% regents exam
