Oregon Youth Center
Guiding, Empowering, Engaging, and Inspiring youth in the Oregon School District
Welcome to the OYC!
We are an after-school and summer drop-in center for youth in grades 5-9 in the Oregon School District. We were started in 2014 as an independent Youth Center, and moved to our new building in 2019. Our programming is a combination of formal activities run by staff and volunteers, and youth-led activities from sports and video games to cards and crafts. See below for examples of our recent activities and events!
We are open M-F from 3pm to 6pm, and our summer hours are M-F 12pm-5pm starting on June 20th.
Weekly on Wednesdays, Kelly brings a variety of activities from the Oregon Public Library, including trivia, STEM activities, and occasional book readings and author visits.
Arts and Crafts
Tuesdays, Hope creates a variety of projects that youth can get creative with! Projects range from dream catchers to bracelets to decorative mason jars.
Every other Wednesday, our program coordinator Hope brings in a no-heat snack recipe for youth, creating the opportunity to eat fun foods and learn basic food prep skills.
Attending the youth center is free and does not require sign-up or registration. Youth are welcome at any time and they come and go as they please. We ask only that parents fill out emergency contact forms and photo release forms and for youth to complete an initial check-in sheet. If your youth attends regularly and enjoys OYC programming, please consider supporting us by donating, bringing in items from our wish list, or volunteering with us!
