October 2023 - Oregon, WI
Homecoming has been a staple at Oregon High School(OHS) and in other High Schools for many years. Depicted as school spirit, a way to connect to fellow students and the community.
This year, OHS held events such as Volleyball, Dodgeball, Hungry Hippos, Plunger Race, and student body dances. Not exhibited before, Hungry Hippos and Plunger Race, were an exciting new and fun event that had people on their feet cheering.
In terms of tournament events, Volleyball was the intense game between the victors of Staff and Sophomores. Interviews conducted show a vast majority rooted for the staff, with OHS Teacher, Micheal Cepoloski stating, “The chemistry, the skills, the athleticism of the teacher team is unmatched.” Fortunately for those rooting for panther staff did see success! With many phenomenal serves from OHS’s very own volleyball coach, Chris Adamatis, the staff won the overall boys volleyball!
As for the other competitive events, Seniors took the win in Hungry Hippos and Dodgeball as Juniors came through for the victory in plunger races.
Finally, to wrap up the assembly, members of each grade level performed their dances, which have been in the making for months. In an interview with one OHS student, the excitement and determination is clear, as he explicitly states the predicted winning of the juniors, “We’ve been doing this for months, we’re ready!” The overall excitement around the pep rally was definitely felt by all. And a well deserved win went to the Seniors!
The pep rally featured at Oregon this year was quite eventful! With many competitions, celebrations and overall recognition of achievements and exciting events in OHS, students and staff couldn't have asked for a better Homecoming Pep Rally!
