Description:
Join ORCA staff and students for a tour of the Pendleton Underground. Learn about Pendleton's infamous and entertaining past while walking the tunnels beneath the sidewalks of the city streets. Our guided tour will include the Shamrock Card Room, the Chinese Laundry, the Empire Ice Cream Parlor and the Empire Meat Market. We will stand under prism glass and go through secret passages to the Chinese living quarters. Did you know that Pendleton used to have a large Chinese population? You will learn why they came and how they helped build the West.

Attendee Limit: 20 students and 20 parent/guardian chaperones
Important Notes:
**Space is limited to 20 ORCA students. Due to Pendleton Underground policy, students under 3rd grade are not permitted.
**One caretaker may attend with each student.
**Non-ORCA students are not able to attend this time due to limited space.
**Cost of the tour is $9.00 per person. Please be prepared to pay before our tour begins.
**This is a 'student friendly tour' and will not include some of the more infamous locations included in the normal tour.
**Please RSVP as soon as possible. RSVPs will close on Thursday, April 16.
**If you sign up and are not able to attend, please let the field trip coordinators know so that space can be given to another student.
